Jin Cheon-Hee (진천희 Jin-Cheon-Hui) is the protagonist of Doctor, Live Again who died from a civil war attack and transmigrated into the novel he finished reading, the Supreme Heavenly Demon. After displaying his impressive 'other-worldly' surgery skills, he is taken in by the White Dragon Godly Doctor Jaegal Lin, and becomes his disciple as well as the successor of the White Dragon Clinic.

Appearance[]

Before his transmigration, Jin Cheonhee has short unkempt hair and dark grey eyes. He wears rectangular glasses and is seen wearing a surgeon outfit underneath his lab coat.

After his transmigration, he inhabits the body of a young child who has long brown hair tied into a bun and brown eyes. Though, the webtoon depicts him having grey eyes instead. He had a scrawny body that may have hinted the body he inhabits was neglected, though under the care of his master does he grow more fat. After undergoing metamorphosis, his physique has become more muscular and he has grown slightly taller than the average person of his age. He's told on various occasions that he has a handsome face, something he himself is proud of.[1] Each time he uses the martial arts of the Jaegal Clan, his eyes transform into the same blue hue as his master's. This change becomes permanent due to the incessant employment of the art. Eun Wang-ya described those blue eyes as precious jade[2], most are scared of it due to its meaning.

Following his apprenticeship under the White Dragon Godly Doctor, he now tends to wear a yellow and turquoise-colored robe, with a white robe and short sleeves worn above it. Additionally, his hair has grown longer since he became a disciple.

In the work, he is described as a handsome man with an outstanding appearance that regardless of his gender. When he walks down the street, people blush because of his unique atmosphere and beauty, and the Sapa mentioned that they would kidnaps him and gives him as a gift to high-ranking officials due to his appearance.

Overall, he is a beautiful person with a gentle and warm impression, and has neat facial features like a celestial being.Official Moonlight Beauty

He is well aware of this fact and actively uses his appearance, such as deliberately becoming bait or dressing up as a woman when infiltrating. When he was trying to seduce Yooho.

He is called a poisonous mushroom in White dragon clinic, which is famous for poisoned many handsome men and beautiful women because of his looks. There are more than a few members who fell in love for him the first time because of his looks and personality, even though they knew they would fail if they fell in love. There are even members who cried because they were not invited even though they were prepared to go to the research center.

He is drawn with brown hair on the cover, and according to the description in the work, he has brown eyes.

Backstory[]

He was raised in an orphanage, but soon after his adoptive parents adopted him, they had a child and abandoned him. Since then, he has stopped expecting much from people, and being abandoned has left him with trauma. At school, he was often accused of being a thief because he was an orphan, and he was bullied because he was smaller than his peers. He didn't want to be abandoned, so he wanted to be a "necessary child" and did their homework for them or watered their plants.

After that, he became a doctor and went to do medical service, but the place he went to got caught up in a civil war and he was shot and died instead of a child.

Personality[]

Due to spending most of his time dedicated to work in his previous life, Jin Cheonhee mainly focuses on saving patients, without expecting anything in return and does not care about his patient's origins or the faction they are part of.[3] This type of mindset is rather odd to most Jianghu doctors, making him draw the interests of powerful figures, namely Jaegal Lin, Pung Juha, etc.

He's a pacifist through and through, and is rather enthusiastic about it, making others finding him as insane. He's later on known to be crazy for saving anyone he comes across injured[4], which can be reflected in his eyes that is full of motivation, said to be a terrifying look than a madman.[5]

As a modern citizen, Jin Cheonhee finds himself struggling to adapt in a world where killing their opponents is the norm, and has mainly avoided needlessly killing his opponents in favor of negotiating first. Especially since the world is set in Murim, he is unable to comprehend high-ranking nobles or the etiquette they follow.[6]

As a doctor, he follows the idea that he cannot kill his opponent, but will crush their bones to rend them immovable. He's shown to adore kids and has a hard time turning them down when they ask for help. He has an indomitable will, and whenever he sets a goal, he wastes no time to complete it, even going so far as to overwork himself that causes those around him to worry. He unconsciously strives for perfection, where Wang Gakyeon would later comment on how he tries too hard to make everything perfect, despite doing well enough as it is.[7]

Given that the Murim world lacks modern technology, Jin Cheonhee exudes a child-like enthusiasm over his ideas and inventions, giddying and laughing at every successful product he's able to create as well as replicating chemical processes (such as nitrogen fixation) that would otherwise be impossible. His frequent expressions of maniacal joy in light of his creations often lead to outsiders believing he is mentally unstable, hence he becomes very well-known for this behaviour leading him to be nicknamed as the 'All-Encompassing Madman'. However, those who have been around him long enough would simply attribute his behaviour to his standard good mood.[8]

He relishes the life he has transmigrated into, filled with gratitude for his encounter with his master and sworn brothers. The White Dragon Clinic has become a beloved home which he cherishes.[9]

Martial Arts & Abilities[]

As the disciple and successor of the White Dragon Godly Doctor, Jin Cheonhee is taught the Jaegal Clan's techniques:

  • Five Elements Technique: He learns it via medicine balls given to him by his master, and it grants control and creation of the elements of gold(or metal), water, earth, fire and wood as well as an assortion of secondary elements such as frost, and lighting.[10] It should be noted however, that metal is part of this technique, and not wind even though it is associated with the main elements in western culture.
  • Hyeon-won-jeon-dan-shin-gong It's the one he uses the most often, the martial art that accelerate his mind and made his eyes turn blue, he can recall what he see in the past even just once, as the martial art advanced he can see things in slow motion and perceive things like others heartbeat.
  • Qi Inspection/Pulse Reading: The ability to use Qi to scan the human body more comprehensively. This techique is first shown by Jaegal Lin, and later mastered by Jin Cheonhee.[3]
  • Three-Part Stride Technique: A beginner-level speed and distance technique that most, if not all martial artist learn. Jin Cheonhee mastered this technique to the point that other people will sometimes think he is using a more complex version of this technique.[11]
  • Mystifying Stride Technique: An upgraded version of the Three-Part Stride Technique that Jin Cheonhee masters later on.[11]
  • Three-Part Strike Technique: This technique was mastered and later evolved into the Fleeting Lighting Spear. Using a spear, the martial artist will channel Lighting, and strike with powerful blows that are difficult to block or defend against especially since there are few wielders of spears in Murim, and thus experience fighting such opponents is nearly non-exsistent. Jaegal Lin mentions that in the history of the Jaegal Clan, Cheonhee was the only one to learn, and master this technique at once rather than waiting years.[12] This technique is known as the Ten-Steps Divine Spear to the outside world.[12]
  • Mystic Core Divine Art: most powerful of Jaegal Martial Arts. Allows him to open up his mind, allowing him to absorb information and understanding them in a matter of seconds.

Space-Time Manipulation: As the body Jin Cheonhee inhabits is actually one of Fuxi's descendants, he gains the unique ability related to time and space. The ability works in two main ways;

Dual-Intention Mind Technique: allows him to use two thoughts and two martial arts simultaneously.[13]

Shamanism: He learns this after visiting a kingdom to the west(?). This technique speeds up healing of wounds, but is completely incompatiable for healing diseases and illnesses. [14] Jin Cheonhee's level of mastery in this technique is unknown.

Tanjicheontong Cheonmang (Heavenly Net): Described as hundreds of bullets covered the front as if they were shotgun shells.[15]

Creations[]

Inventions[]

Although Jin Cheonhee technically didn't invent any of the things he introduces to the Murim World, many people attribute him as the creator. Below are a list of 'Inventions' Jin Cheonhee is known for (much to his embrassment):

  • Penicillin (Baekrin Shindan)
    • White Dragon Divine Pills - aka. Conditional Panacea
    • White Dragon Divine Elixir
  • Heated Stone Floors (including windows made with glass (Ondol)[16]
  • Qi-Surgery (a style different from the Dark Deity Clinic)
  • Soap
  • Streptomycin (Geumho Shindan)
  • Board Games (Cheong-ok/Blue Jade, Jeok-ok/Red Jade)
  • Triage (as a concept)
  • Civil engineering (Water and Sewage system)
  • Blast Furnace
  • Yuho Bingho (Refrigerator)
  • Sea Salt Farm
  • Golden Fox Bean Honey Milk: Soy Milk developed for babies who suffer from lactose intolerant, and named in reference to Yooho.[17]

Author[]

Jin Cheonhee, in his efforts to make medicine more easily accessible, released two books. His master, Jaegal Lin was apparently not against this, as he helped him find a publisher, and a republe merchant. The following is a list of books he released;

  • [Efficient examination for Kangshi: From research to clinical trials]
  • [Practical Family Medicine: Basics]

After he releases these two books for free, they gained immense popularity that it became a must have for every town, city and village, large or small. Unbeknownst to him, this makes him super popular with the common people, so much so that when someone tries to badmouth him in public, average people get very angry.

Trivia[]

  • He is an excellent cook who can cook Western, Chinese and Korean cuisine.
    • As his cooking skills becomes a sensation in Jianghu, he worries that his career as a doctor would be less-known than as a cook.[18]
    • He'd later be more well-known for being crazy with saving people and his cooking skills than his medical skills.[19]
  • Due to watching various types of documentaries, he knows the basics of certain architecture or engineering methods, such as floor heating[20], filtration[21], etc.
  • He can Ski.[22]
  • He finds it embarrassing that he likes the praise and attention he's getting during the conference.[23]
  • Jin Cheonhee is revealed to be a virgin before and after his transmigration, because of this, he's said to have 50 years worth of purity.
  • His bright, cheerful voice is said to inspire vitality while encouraging his patient's recovery.[1]
  • He smokes to de-stress in one loop, it is unknown if he does this still going forward.
    • When his master finds out about this, instead of getting mad, he simply makes 'healthly smokes' and offers support to Cheonhee.
  • He cannot recall how he had bought or obtained the novel Supreme Heavenly Demon.[9]
  • Apparently stories of his adventures are constantly being performed and showcased in tea houses across the empire due to his popularity with the common people.
  • Another fact, is that he is used as the role model to other disciples about what the perfect student should act like and achieve. Jin Cheonhee, himself only becomes aware of this when he is forced into participating the Dragon-Pheonix tournament , and other masters' disciples keep trying to pick fights with him. None of them get very far, and the few who do end up fighting him, swiftly lose.
  • His drive to save people is considered madness to everyone in Jianghu, and scares most, if not all of them in various ways.
  • His idea to collaborate with other clinics was completely shocking to Bloodborne Demon, and even his master but neither rejected his thoughts, and both even went so far to praise him on his foresight for 'looking to the future'.
  • Cheonhee is considered a genius and the light of jianghu.
  • Cheonhee's training ethics are considered beyond amazing to the point that even other masters are shocked by his willingness to train for long periods of time without complaint. [24]
  • Cheonhee would call his inventions that he created in reference to Yooho as his children. So whenever he wants to create another he often says "Let's have our third/fourth child, Yooho!" Leading into alot of misunderstandings.
  • He often gets punched by Yuho whenever the man loses his patience.
  • It should be noted though, that in the world of martial arts, masters have been known to beat, if not outright wound disbehaving disciples requiring them to heal for days, if not weeks. Cheonhee only learns of this later on, and is taken aback, because he didn't even know that was a thing that happened.
    • Conversely, disciples of other sects were completely astonished that Cheonhee had never been 'dispiclined' for anything, completely unaware that Cheonhee has been put in 'time-out' for days and made to rest with shakles on his limbs.
  • Sama Hyeon noted that Cheonhee’s blue eyes color changes depends on what he thinks about. [25]
